> Hi, I'm Alexandra! I'm a sophomore at Columbia studying Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. I'm interested in software, AI/ML, biotech, and design.
In my spare time, I read essays and sci-fi, design stickers for my laptop, play Set, scroll Wikipedia pages on music history with Columbia Quiz Bowl, and am a mediocre birdwatcher.
Talk to me anytime at alexandra [dot] duan [at] columbia [dot] edu.
$ cd "research"
I am currently developing a hybrid machine learning model for hazard analysis in chemical engineering at the Complex Resilient Intelligent Systems Lab @ Columbia. Previously, I worked on a Python-based pipeline to quantify blood flow in an Alzheimer's mouse model through the Simons Summer Research Program, which was published here.

I am an incoming software engineer intern at Google. I'm currently a teaching assistant for Columbia's COMS3203: Discrete Mathematics, where I think very hard about the mathematical foundations of computer science.
You can find some of my projects on my GitHub.
